Heartsaver First Aid
This course may be used as a stand-alone course for first-time students or as an add-on to the Heartsaver CPR and AED. This program can be offered jointly with other AHA courses to meet the specific needs of your work site.
The course covers:
- Remaining safe & calm during an emergency
- How to recognize and offer assistance to anyone who needs first aid
- Injury Emergencies including Bleeding, Bandaging & Splinting
- Medical Emergencies such as Stroke, Heart Attack & Seizures
- Environmental Emergencies such as Insect, Reptile or Animal bites
- Choking emergencies for Adults and Children
- Outdoor Emergencies such as Heat or Cold related emergencies
- And many other related First Aid subjects
Intended Audience:
For any individuals and First Responders including those who have a duty to respond to as security and airline personnel, law enforcement and Firefighters. Also included are teachers, day-care workers coaches and volunteers who work with sports related organizations. Church staff and volunteers including ushers, Sunday school teachers.
Course Length:
Approximately 3 - 4 hours
Students must successfully complete the First Aid skills tests to qualify for the Heartsaver First Aid American Heart Association card
